Paakiwaha is an exciting weekly current affairs programme with a Maori perspective.  Paakiwaha is hosted this week by  Willie Jackson and broadcast by Radio Waatea with funding from New Zealand on Air.

This week Willie interviews Dr Clive Aspin who is the senior indigenous research fellow at the Poche Centre for indigenous health in Sydney. Clive comments on the removal of a four year old child with HIV aids from an early childcare centre last week.  Other guests include a spokesperson from the Womens Health Action Trust, Christy Parker,  who speaks out against the Government's intention to issue free contraceptives to female beneficiaries; Mera Pinehira talks about a planned event on Kingitanga Day this week at Waikato University; co-leader of the Green Party Russell Norman explains why he thinks assets sales are a folly; Glen Tupuhi, a member of the Maori Statutory Board, explains why $100 million of Auckland Council property should be used for Treaty Settlements and master weaver and artist, Karl Leonard talks about furthering his craft while on sabbatical in the US.

Award winning political reporter Duncan Garner comments on various Parliamentary issues and sports commentator Ken Laban provides his sports round up for the week.
