Generation change needed in Tamaki Makaurau

Meanwhile, Labour Party leader Phil Goff says it's time for a younger man to represent Tamaki Makaurau.
On the weekend Mr Goff launched Shane Jones' campaign to take the Auckland-based Maori electorate from Maori Party co-leader Pita Sharples.
He says voters are ready for someone fresh.
“Look, I like Pita as a human being and an individual, but Pita is now well past the age most people have retired at. I think it’s' time for a younger man and a younger generation to come forward and I think Shane Jones is that man,” says Mr Goff, who was first elected to parliament 30 years ago.
He expects a lot of votes will flow back from Maori disillusioned with the Maori Party's support for National.
